Raffe
Raffe is our tallest Carousel figure and a beloved favorite. He was sponsored by community leader and philanthropist, Doris Lou Gast. Her fondness for giraffes led to a large private collection that she shared with family and friends. One of her grandchildren, as a small child, could not pronounce “giraffe” and called the world’s tallest land animal, “Raffe." With this figure, she immortalized her grandchild’s endearing story.
Raffe is what's called a "stander," so it does not move up and down as the Carousel turns. This makes it an especially popular choice for infants and young children. He is featured on the 2017 token.
